Waters Edge, Nene Valley

Set within the beautiful rolling countryside of The Nene Valley lies Waters Edge; a prestigious development of high specification, luxury second homes. The design of these exclusive, high specification contemporary residences harmonise with the surrounding land and water. CUPA Natural Slate was specified for the roofing at Waters Edge – its characteristics meeting the exacting requirements of the designers.

CUPA Natural Slate provides an attractive, long lasting facade that not only enhances the architecture at Waters Edge but is also sympathetic towards the tranquil beauty of the surrounding parkland.

Harris Slate provided CUPA 5 Slate for the development. The firm’s Sales Manager Kris Brentnall commented, “This is a prestigious waterside development using the highest quality materials. The roofs are enhanced by the high standard of CUPA Slates which set off each property in the manner desired by the designer”.

Waters Edge is a gated sanctuary situated near the beautiful village of Wansford and a short drive from Stamford. The properties each benefit from their own mooring and stunning views across the River Nene. Quality and an attention to detail are evident throughout the development, with CUPA Natural Slate further heightening the stylish, idyllic feel of Waters Edge.

Slate is a natural material that is exceptionally hardwearing and has a timeless warmth and elegance, which place it in a league of its own. It is virtually impervious to the elements and can last more than a lifetime. Cupa’s chemical-free quarrying and land reinstatement make Cupa Natural Slate an attractive option in terms of environmental impact and sustainability when compared to other forms of tile roof covering.

CUPA 5 is a pale grey slate with a riven surface and hand split into a thickness of 7-8mm. It is available in a variety of formats such as square, rectangular, rounded and rustic. Testing is undergone at each level of the production process to ensure the highest quality is maintained. CUPA complies with British and European Standards including BS 680: Part 2, and the firm offers its customers a 30-year guarantee.

Roger Woodbridge from Howlett Leisure, who developed Waters Edge comments, “I specified CUPA Slate because of the texture and colour. When the sun shines at certain angles it reflects the woodwork and lightens the edges of the fascia. The consistent quality of the slate is a bonus. I am very pleased with the service given by CUPA and would have no hesitation in using them on other projects”.

Almost twenty thousand CUPA 5 tiles have already been used throughout phase one of the Waters Edge project with a similar amount specified for the soon to commence second phase.
